(Early in 2009, Professor of Sociology William Robinson provided to his students a critique of Israeli policy, comparing that nation’s treatment of Palestinians in Gaza to Germany’s treatment of Warsaw Poles in World War II. Two students withdrew from the course and, guided by the Anti-Defamation League, filed an “Anti-Semitism” grievance with the university, igniting a campus and community furor. This is the story of what happened.)
